I like it. Too bad it doesn’t have the later 24V 3.6 M104.941 motor - that would be epic.

Looks like it’s the same one that was featured on Petrolicious.
EDIT: I hadn’t read the ad...

That’s right up there with the Jeep Comanche Eliminator for great but somewhat unfortunate car names.

My inner drug lord... wut?... Anyway, my inner drug lord still covets a 560SEC widebody.

Salvage because of a tail light? Why didn’t you tell the insurance wait nvm I got this and keep the title clean? Something doesn’t sound right about all that and I have a feeling there needs to be more told about the title.

No kidding, that’s an awesome engine!

Agreed. Or get it appraised by a third party to prove the damage was less than vehicle value. But if it was fixed properly, and is what he says it is, probably still an appropriate price.

Why what?
![]() 10/29/2015 at 09:53 |

Issue now is that it becomes harder to insure it for its true value. Now it is a salvage vehicle, even if it is 100% clean. If it is lost then now the insurance company won’t pay out what it truly is valued at. It isn’t a question of how clean it is now. Even if it was wrecked way back when and was repaired to better then new conditions, it is still worth less than an equal quality, clean titled vehicle. When a car is stamped salvaged, no matter how nice, it is still a salvage car.

Right?!?

But even with the SOHC engine that’s in there it’s probably a fine drive. A friend of mine had a 4-cylinder 190E and I hated it for being so buzzy and crude, but then I test drove one with the 2.6l I6 and it was like a completely different car, one I would actually live with.

That’s a good point. I hadn’t considered insurance.

Neat coincidence. I was just browsing the CL’s up and down the coast for obscure things.

Definitely. I think it needs a turbo though. Just an idea. More power is almost always better.

I’m glad that you put in the qualifier “almost” in your reply. As much as I like more power (who doesn’t, right?), sometimes you just can’t beat the rev-happy nature of a normally-aspirated engine, especially if it’s an I6.

For sure. If it’s a good I6. Some are just meh. And M104 will always trump M103.
